Attorney Fees

Personal injury cases are handled on a contingency fee basis. That means the fee is a percentage of any recovery; The typical personal injury attorney fee which most personal injury attorneys traditionally charge is 33 & 1/3rd percent of any case that is settled without litigation, or 40% of any case that is litigated.

CaliforniaUtahPersonalInjuryLawyer.com and the Law Offices of David Laurence Altman offer clients a choice of discounts; for traditional in person service with  regular office meetings and consultations, clients are charged 30% of any pre litigation recovery and 35% of any recovery after litigation has commenced.  For those clients who, in effect are electing to substitute technology for a handshake, more substantial discounted percentage fees are available on all personal injury cases as set forth below. Please note that fees are charged only on the bodily injury and economic loss portions of the claim. There is never any fee for vehicle repairs, rental reimbursement personal property losses regardless of the fee schedule that the personal injury client selects.   Also, in the exceedingly rare event of no recovery, there is never any charge to the personal injury client regardless of the amount of time spent or funds advanced by Attorney David Altman in prosecuting the client's claim.

Discount fees for personal injury claims with valid insurance coverage:

1. 25% of any personal injury recovery involving one to two adult claimants. (Savings of over 25% from typical contingency fees).
    
2. 20% of any personal injury recovery involving three or more adult claimants in the same accident. (Savings of 40% from typical contingency fees).
    
3. 20% of any personal injury recovery involving one or more minor children in the same accident that requires court approval. (Savings of 20% from typical contingency fees). Lesser fees may apply for any personal injury recovery involving a minor child that does not require court approval.

Should the client instruct the Law Offices of David Laurence Altman and CaliforniaUtahPersonalInjuryLawyer.com to present separate and additional claims for group medical coverage, auto med pay, disability benefits, social security or other private insurance, attorney will be entitled to receive the same percentage of recovery as quoted for the bodily injury and economic loss claim.

The fees listed above are provided as a general overview only of the fee schedule and may not apply to all cases; the specific factual circumstances of a case may warrant deviating from this fee schedule. Client will be advised prior to signing any retainer agreement of the exact fee applicable to client's case.

This fee schedule applies to non litigation cases; should client's case require litigation, clients will receive discounted litigation fees for those cases handled by Attorney Altman personally and/or from an experienced local litigation associate offers reduced fees to clients of the  Law Offices of David Laurence Altman and California UtahPersonalInjury Lawyer.com.
